A Common Vision

Vermont and New Hampshire are very different states regarding politics, governments and styles, yet in 1975 the leaders of the Northeast Kingdom and the North Country recognized that together they form a natural region as they share common interests and challenges. This video describes how NCIC was developed.

Business Solutions

As a US Department of the Treasury-certified Community Development Financial Institution we offer a full spectrum of economic development based financial products ranging from US Small Business Administration (SBA) Microloans, Direct loans primarily funded through USDA Rural Development Intermediate Relending Program (IRP) and SBA 504 loans. Through its lending NCIC has provided over $100 million to businesses while leveraging an additional $300 million from other sources and helped to retain in excess of 10,000 jobs while creating more than 5,000 new jobs. In addition, NCIC provides Technical Assistance (TA) to assist businesses have the visibility to manage to their financials, marketing strategies, website designs, patenting ideas and utilizing technology. TA services have tremendous value for small businesses seeking to advance to the next level and are provided through NCIC staff and retained consultants.

Community Assistance

NCIC’s Economic Development efforts have included helping mid-sized companies expand through CDBG based lending while guiding and participating with communities to develop educational centers, industrial parks and complete feasibility studies for future opportunities. Regionally, NCIC is working to establish an improved business environment to strengthen opportunities for job creation and retention, such as Wireless LINC and New Hampshire Grand. Such solutions are adding great strength to the businesses of the region.

Strategic Business Infrastructure

Wireless LINC is a publicly financed fixed wireless infrastructure allowing open access for for-profit Internet Service Providers and other vendors to deliver competitive services to the region’s businesses and homes. The primary aim is to connect outlying end users who have no broadband connectivity.

New and Different

NCIC offers Innovation North as it recognizes ideas, change, passion and trends contribute to the need for new products, services and processes and therefore are the base stimulus for the process of devising solutions to address unmet needs, better known as innovation. Innovation is not always profound in its nature but is often profound in improving life for the consumer, the vendors and the employees. Innovation North is designed to draw out and advance innovations that will lead to job creation with both customized technical assistance and unique funding mechanisms.

New Hampshire Grand

New Hampshire Grand is a tourism marketing initiative for the benefit of the businesses and residents of Coos County. With magnificent landscapes, adventures and resort accommodations, the program promotions indentify the experiences offered throughout the region through a variety of electronic and printed mediums.
